Token Transit Send a Pass is an online pass purchasing portal for RMTD. You can purchase a pass online and have it instantly sent to any phone number you choose. You can now instantly deliver transit passes for your friends and family.
Anyone may purchase any fare listed above. However, the following fares can only be used by qualifying riders and may require ID to board.

Student |
RMTD operators will only accept area middle school and area high school issued ID cards. All students attending other institutions of learning including advanced learning facilities such as Rock Valley College, Judson College or Rasmussen College or alternative education programs, must have an RMTD Student ID card to qualify for the student discounted rate. To obtain an RMTD Student ID card, a student must come to the downtown transfer center and verify his or her enrollment in an educational program by presenting a current class schedule or transcript. The student must also be able to verify that he or she is 20 year of age or younger during the current school year.

Disabled Citizens |
Any person with a Medicare Card can qualify for reduced fare service on the RMTD system. Riders must first obtain the appropriate RMTD photo ID.
To get an RMTD issued Disabled ID, complete the form at rmtd.org/tickets/fares and bring the form and $5.00 to a RMTD Transfer Center.

Paratransit Certified ADA Riders Only |
Any person wishing to utilizes the Paratransit service must first have their eligibility certified by Rockford Paratransit and then must be registered into the system.
Rockford Paratransit’s service area is equivalent to the RMTD fixed route system. In compliance with the ADA, service for Paratransit is therefore available ¾ of a mile beyond the RMTD Fixed Route system and/or jurisdictional boundaries.

Passes can be used at any time after purchase. Purchased passes are stored in the "Stored Passes" section of the app. The countdown does not begin until after the pass is first used. For more information on how to use the app, checkout our video tutorial.

If you have a new phone number and need your passes transferred from your old phone number, please submit a support request. Please provide your old and new phone numbers
Your account is tied to the phone number that you first used to log into the Token Transit app. You will receive an SMS message to verify your phone number when you log in.
If you lost access to your phone number and would like to access previously purchased passes, contact us.
If you need to contact Token Transit, you will receive the fastest response by submitting a request using the link below. Token Transit staff work quickly to ensure that your requests are responded to in a timely manner and that your concerns are addressed.
Token Transit responds fastest to requests submitted online. If you are unable to submit a request online, we also can be reached via email, SMS, and voicemail. It may take significantly longer to receive a response via these methods.
If you cannot submit a request via support request form, you can email Token Transit support at help@tokentransit.com. When you send an email, please include your name and the phone number that you've used to create your account. If you do not include this information we may not be able to address your issue.
Token Transit is a mobile ticketing app that lets you pay for and ride public transit with your phone. We partner with transit agencies across the country to offer fare payment for your public transit agency in our app.
With the Token Transit app, you purchase, activate and board using just your phone. All of your passes are stored in the cloud, and retrievable on any mobile device.
Active passes will be displayed under “passes in use,” which immediately appears when the Token Transit app is opened. They display a “time left” section with time remaining until the pass expires. Passes that have not been activated yet will be displayed under “stored passes,” and can be stored as long as you like.
Currently Token Transit accepts credit, debit or a prepaid debit cards as forms of payment as well as Apple Pay on iOS devices. We are looking into additional methods of letting users pay for the bus through our app. Contact us to let us know how you would like to pay.
We are a convenient alternative to existing forms of payment. If you do not have a credit or debit card you can always continue to use your current method to pay for transit fares.
