Token Transit Send a Pass is an online pass purchasing portal for RTC. You can purchase a pass online and have it instantly sent to any phone number you choose. You can now instantly deliver transit passes for your friends and family.

Do you qualify for reduced fares?

Anyone may purchase any fare listed above. However, the following fares can only be used by qualifying riders and may require ID to board.

RTC RIDE Disabled Please be prepared to show a current RTC RIDE Disabled ID card, a current Disabled ID card issued by another transit agency, a current RTC ACCESS ID card or a Medicare card. Reduced fare ID cards are free and can be obtained at the RTC 4th Street Station Information Booth. Please check RTC Washoe website for more information.

RTC RIDE Veteran A veteran is a person who served in the active US military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. A DD Form 214 or veteran designation on a state ID or driver’s license is acceptable for proof of veteran status.

RTC RIDE Youth Youths are persons 6 to 18 years of age. (Children under 6 years of age ride free and must be accompanied by adult). Please be prepared to show a driver’s license, DMV ID card, or a current middle or high school student photo ID. Reduced fare ID cards are free and can be obtained at the RTC 4th Street Station Information Booth. Please check RTC Washoe website for more information.

RTC RIDE Senior Seniors are persons 60 years of age or over. Please be prepared to show a driver’s license, DMV ID card, or a current RTC RIDE Senior ID card. Passes

Passes can be used at any time after purchase. Purchased passes are stored in the "Stored Passes" section of the app. The countdown does not begin until after the pass is first used. For more information on how to use the app, checkout our video tutorial

Name Description
Single Ride Purchased passes are saved for later use. Valid for a single ride. No transfers given. Valid on SIERRA SPIRIT, RTC RAPID and RTC RIDE.
Day Purchased passes are saved for later use. 1 Day passes are activated at the time of first use and are valid until midnight. Valid on SIERRA SPIRIT, RTC RAPID and RTC RIDE.
7 Day Purchased passes are saved for later use. 7-day passes are activated at the time of first use and expire at midnight on the 7th day. Valid on SIERRA SPIRIT, RTC RAPID and RTC RIDE.
31 Day Purchased passes are saved for later use. 31-day passes are activated at the time of first use and expire at midnight on the 31st day. Valid on SIERRA SPIRIT, RTC RAPID and RTC RIDE.
RTC REGIONAL CONNECTOR Single Ride Purchased passes are saved for later use. Valid for 120 minutes after first use. No transfers given. Valid on SIERRA SPIRIT, RTC RAPID, RTC RIDE, and RTC REGIONAL CONNECTOR
RTC REGIONAL CONNECTOR 10 Ride Purchased passes are saved for later use. Pack of 10 passes, each valid for 120 minutes after first use. Valid on SIERRA SPIRIT, RTC RAPID, RTC RIDE, and RTC REGIONAL CONNECTOR
RTC ACCESS Single Ride Anyone may purchase RTC ACCESS tickets, but to ride you must have a valid RTC ACCESS ID. Drivers do not sell tickets or accept cash or tips. RTC ACCESS trips that begin and end within 3/4 mile of the RTC SIERRA SPIRIT route are fare free. RTC ACCESS reservations will inform riders whether their trips are fare free at the time the rides are scheduled.
RTC ACCESS 10-Trip Anyone may purchase RTC ACCESS tickets, but to ride you must have a valid RTC ACCESS ID. Drivers do not sell tickets or accept cash or tips. What is Token Transit?

Token Transit is a mobile ticketing app that lets you pay for and ride public transit with your phone. We partner with transit agencies across the country to offer fare payment for your public transit agency in our app.

With the Token Transit app, you purchase, activate and board using just your phone. All of your passes are stored in the cloud, and retrievable on any mobile device.

Active passes will be displayed under “passes in use,” which immediately appears when the Token Transit app is opened. They display a “time left” section with time remaining until the pass expires. Passes that have not been activated yet will be displayed under “stored passes,” and can be stored as long as you like.

How do I access my account?

Your account is tied to the phone number that you first used to log into the Token Transit app. You will receive an SMS message to verify your phone number when you log in.

If you lost access to your phone number and would like to access previously purchased passes, contact us.

Currently Token Transit accepts credit, debit or a prepaid debit cards as forms of payment as well as Apple Pay on iOS devices. We are looking into additional methods of letting users pay for the bus through our app. Contact us to let us know how you would like to pay.

We are a convenient alternative to existing forms of payment. If you do not have a credit or debit card you can always continue to use your current method to pay for transit fares.
